What Honda certified gives you
- Engine and transmission: covered for 7 years or 100,000 miles from when the car was first sold new.
- Most other repairs: covered for 2 more years after the regular warranty (3 years or 36,000 miles) ends. If that has already run out, as on cars with over 36,000 miles, the 2 years start the day you buy. Either way it stops at 100,000 miles.
- No charge for covered repairs (no deductible).
- A 182-point inspection by the Honda dealer, 2 free oil changes, roadside help, and a 3-day (300-mile) swap for another certified Honda if you change your mind (not a refund).
Cars that aren't certified come with what's left of Honda's original warranty: 3 years or 36,000 miles, and 5 years or 60,000 miles on the engine and transmission, from when the car was first sold new. Some dealers add a short warranty of their own.
